Happy Easter Scrapbook Album Tutorial

Hi crafters! Today, I'm sharing how I made this pretty Happy Easter Mini Album with two wonderful Lori Whitlock cutting files and the Echo Park, Our Happy Place Collection. With its pastel colors, flowers, gingham prints, and plaids, this little scrapbook is perfect for saving photos of the holiday and spring season.

Happy Easter Scrapbook Mini Album with a rabbit, a basket, eggs, and flowers

The front cover is so cute! It's actually a card file called A2 Easel Card Easter Bunny Basket File (link below). Because it's a card, you could replicate this idea with ANY design and change up the theme to Mother's Day, birthday, summer, etc.

For the actual book, I used the Hidden Binding Mini Album Rectangle File (link below). Lori has other hidden binding mini album shapes too. I've made the house, flower, telephone, apple, and tag shape and I love them!

Let's take a quick look inside, then the tutorial ...

I embellished the pages with a mix of pretty 12x12 and 6x6 papers, photo mats, stickers, and enamel dots.

On this page, I added a shaped photo mat using a 3" scalloped circle punch and a 2.5" circle punch by Marvy Uchida (links below).

Wouldn't these pages be pretty filled with photos of Easter, spring, family gatherings, fun with friends, church activities, and sweet everyday memories?

This album's hidden binding feature allows for enough space in between the pages so that you can add lots of pattern papers, pop-dots, photos, and embellishments.

Such a pretty little scrapbook! Ok, time for the simple tutorial ...

1.  I resized the Hidden Binding Mini Album's pieces to create a book that would be 4.75" wide x 7” tall. I chose this size so that I wouldn’t need to resize the Easter basket file.

2.  Next, I cut out all of the pieces for both files.

3.  I assembled the card first. The Basket file comes with a base "grass" background that is shaped to help you know where to layer each of the pieces. I added the pink shape on top of the green base.

4. Then, I layered the yellow basket on next.

5. I adhered the little eggs in place, tucking them in behind the yellow basket.

6. Then, I added the pieces of the bunny's body.

7. How cute! I used some foam tape underneath the feet and tail to give them some dimension.

8. You can see in this picture that the pink base helps you know exactly where to adhere the flowers.

9. I added some pretty colored enamel dots to the center of the flowers and the bow for a bit of shine.

10. Once the card was assembled, it was time to build the album. Above, are the pages and the binding piece. The binding piece is scored, so I folded along the score lines to create “mountains” and “valleys”.

11. I added adhesive inside the “valleys" and adhered the sides together.

The outside of the binding now looked like this. The cutting file includes a separate piece that will be glued over these folds to create the album's spine.

12. This is the inside of the binding. To add the pages, I adhered one page piece to the front of the first spine fold and a second one to the back ... sandwiching them on the "mountain".

13. I continued to add the rest of the pages until the book was complete.

14.  To decorate the cover, I adhered the Easter basket piece to the front and added my title. And ... voila! A fun and simple spring project.

Look how cute this mini album is sitting out on my clear Acrylic Display Stand. These are perfect for showing off your projects. They make great decor around the holidays and through the seasons, and ... they're filled with your FUN memories!

I hope this Happy Easter Mini Album gives you a little holiday and spring inspiration. Give these fabulous Lori Whitlock cutting files a try and happy scrapping! 😊

NEW! Reasons To Smile Scrapbook Album Kit

Happy Wednesday! This week's NEW mini album kit is finished so I thought I'd share some photos of it until it's available in my shop on Friday. It's titled Reasons To Smile and it's a perfect scrapbook for pictures of fun everyday memories, family, friends, celebrations, and moments that make you and your loved ones smile.

Reasons To Smile Scrapbook Album with flowers, hearts, books, cameras, potted plants, and rainbows

I designed this with a 6x8 inch Doodlebug Design binder in swimming pool blue and the American Crafts, Reasons to Smile Collection by Shimelle. It's super colorful, and ... has sparkling gold accents (yay!). It also has images of hearts, cameras, flowers, potted plants, rainbows, books, and lots of cheerful patterns.

Inside, there are 24 scrapbook pages that include 2 fold-out pages, 2 pockets, 3 flippies, and space for 40+ photos. I've added lots of fun stickers, die cut pieces, and enamel dots so this album has lots of goodies.

Look how pretty! This page just makes me happy with the little rainbows in the background, the pastel lavender striped page, the flowers extending off the edge, and those tiny enamel dots. Love it.

This album would be great for photos of almost anything. You could add pictures of birthdays, family gatherings, a graduation, school activities, sweet moments at home, crafting with friends, date night, coffee with the girls, or a fun vacation.

Reasons To Smile Scrapbook Album folding page with vibrant colors and a fun circle pattern

Here is one of the interactive fold-out pages. The front is covered in a vibrant print with colorful circles. I added a matching round die cut to the edge of the page that can be used as a tab. When you lift it ...

... you'll find an aqua blue polka dot background, 2 photo mats, and a cute journaling spot that looks like an index card. The metallic gold "sunshine" and the cute enamel dots add a bit of shine to the pages.

This collection also has cute images of slices of cake, ice cream cones, and the card above that says "whipping up some magic". So, you could add photos of baking in the kitchen, a birthday party, any celebration, or ... a visit to the ice cream parlor.

This scrapbook is so versatile, it can ALSO be used for a new home, a housewarming party, neighborhood gatherings, a favorite hobby, your job, a holiday, a religious event, and wonderful everyday moments.

Crafty Cupid Retreat & Happy Together Scrapbook Album

Hello friends! Today, I want to tell you about the fun Crafty Cupid Retreat that I participated in on February 7-10th, AND ... to share this premade Happy Together Mini Album that I had left over from my class. It will be available in my shop on Friday, along with this week's new kit. I only have ONE so once it sells, it's gone!

Happy Together Mini Album with a banner, flowers, hearts, and a bow

The Crafty Cupid Retreat's theme was all about the things we love. 💕 It was a 3-day virtual event (Friday - Sunday) via Facebook. So, the participants got to scrap with us LIVE in the comfort of their own homes!

There were 4 instructors ... me, Lindsay Wahl, Erica Rose, and Andrea Lake. If you purchased the full retreat (vs. access only), you got a box filled with the supplies to create 5 projects - 2 mini albums, 2 layout kits, and 1 card kit. There were also fun make-n-takes and goodie bags!

This was the pretty mini album I created for the retreat. I designed it with the Simple Stories, Heartstrings Collection and a 6x8 inch red binder by Doodlebug Design. I love the bright happy colors, the flowers, and all the hearts!

It has 10 scrapbook pages that include 2 fold-out pages, 3 pockets, 7 flippies, and space for 30+ photos.

During each class, the instructor walked you through how to create their project. You could interact with them and with lots of crafty friends from around the country. What a great way to be a part of a creative community!

Another great thing about these virtual classes is ... if you can't attend every class, each one is recorded and saved in a private Facebook group so you have access to it anytime! Busy schedule ... no problem! It will be there for you when you're ready.

Our next retreat will be on National Scrapbook Day, Saturday May 3rd and the theme is You Are My Sunshine. 🌞 Stay tuned for a sneak peek of those projects. You can read more about this fun event HERE or click the link below. Let's scrapbook together virtually!

Also, don't forget ... this beautiful Preassembled Happy Together Mini Album will be in my shop on Friday. I only have ONE, so if you want it ... set a reminder!⏰
