Hello crafty friends! Today, I'm sharing a pea pod shaped mini album that I made for my Lori Whitlock Design Team Project. I created it using the adorable Valentine Pun Stickers Cutting File (link below) that has lots of fun images and sayings. I chose the two peas in a pod and made the peas removable! What a perfect little scrapbook for photos of best friends, twins, a parent and their "mini me" child, or a sweet couple.
Ha! How cute is this? I love the little peas!! To start, I sized the shape to 14" wide x 5" high and cut the front and back covers out of white acrylic. But, you could use white cardstock or chipboard instead.
Next, I cut the peas and pod shapes out of green cardstock by Bazzill (guacamole) and Doodlebug Design (limeade and citrus). I used more Bazzill cardstock for the heart, eyes, and smiles and Doodlebug pink enamel dots for their cheeks (links below).
I wanted the cute little peas to be removable so, I left space in between the pod's green papers to tuck them into. You could always add more peas if you'd like and change the title to Three (or Four) Peas in a Pod.
The backsides can be used as a photo mats for pictures. Add photos of mom or dad and their little mini me, best friends who finish each other's sentences, twins or siblings who share the same looks or mannerisms, a couple, or your sweet pets that can't live without each other.
For the title, I used Doodlebug's Alphabet Soup stickers and added 2 red puffy heart stickers on either end.
Inside the album, I made 4 white card stock pages. To cut
these, I had to turn the shape diagonally on the 12x12 inch piece of
paper in order for it to fit.
I covered each white page in colorful papers and added different shaped photo mats for interest. Here, I used a 3.5" scallop circle punch and a 3" circle punch by Marvy Uchida to create this one.
I decorated the pages with lots of cute die cut pieces. I used the Odds & Ends, Chit Chat, and Odd & Ends Veggie Garden from the Farmer's Market Collection (links below).
Here, I created the mats using a 3.5" scallop circle punch and a 3" circle punch for the larger one and a 3" and 2.5" circle punch for the smaller one.
I added a Doodlebug Petite Print on every page somewhere. These pattern papers are so versatile. I chose prints from the Dot & Stripe, Buffalo Check & Wood Grain, Plaid & Polka Dot, and Swiss Dot (links below).
While I kept the farm and vegetable theme throughout this album, you could easily change it and use ANY paper collection inside. It would be really cute for Valentine's Day with lots of red, pink, and hearts. Fill it with flowers for Mother's Day. Or add a spring or Easter collection for next season.
I love this fun little detail. I added a pea pod shaped puffy sticker and a few enamel dots that look like peas!
What a unique gift idea this would be for Valentine's Day, an anniversary, a birthday, Mother's Day, to show appreciation / thank you, or ... just to brighten someone's day.
So many cute veggies. I tucked a smaller circular mat in next to them for a 2nd photo or journaling. I used a 1.5" scallop circle punch and a 1.25" circle punch for this. And I LOVE that little enamel pea pod sprinkle!
Look how perfect my clear Acrylic Display Stand is for displaying this mini album! It's also great for featuring special greeting cards and your other handmade works of art.
