Hello everyone! Today is Lori Whitlock's December Blog Hop and my blog is the first stop on the hop. But be sure to visit Lori's site too because she has a sale and more great products for you!
It's also National Gingerbread House Day, so ... I decided to make a Christmas card using one of Lori’s fun new files called 5x7 Insert Card House. I decorated it like the sweet treat and I think it turned out pretty cute!
To start, I cut out all the pieces with my Silhouette machine. I used white cardstock for the base and paper from a collection Lori designed for Echo Park called Have A Holly Jolly Christmas (links below).
I used the 6x6 paper pad. The house was Cookie Stockings, the roof was the Dashing Deer stripe, and the door and window sills were the green Jolly Snowflakes. I also added a few 12x12 solids in red and green.
I cut the file out 3x in different papers to create the separate pattern pieces, then snipped out the individual shapes. I inserted the red background piece and layered the house and the roof shapes onto the white base.
To embellish, I chose
the bow, holly, and gingerbread cookie stickers from the 12x12 sheet,
the Happy Holidays die cut from the Frames & Tags Ephemera, and some
pretty red enamel dots. The scalloped border sticker is from the Doodlebug Design, Gingerbread Kisses Collection.
Here is the cutting file that I used ...
I hope you'll give this wonderful card a try. It was super easy and such a fun project to make! There are more inspiring projects to see today, so ... be sure to hop to each blog for more great ideas!
