Hello my friends and Happy Valentine's Day! Today is Lori Whitlock's February Blog Hop and my blog is the first stop on the hop. But be sure to visit Lori's site because she has a sale and more great products for you!
For my project today, I have another fun project for you that uses one of Lori's wonderful cut files called Layered Shelf Box. It's a pretty little 3D box that opens up and folds out to display 4 layered "shelves". It's perfect for small gifts like jewelry, candy, or pictures.
Outside, it's decorated with colorful papers and pretty flower pieces on top. But wait till you see inside.
Taa Dahhh! I bet you weren't expecting that. What a fun way to surprise someone with a few tiny gifts.
The finished project is a 2.75" cube that's just adorable. I made the base and inside shelves out of solid cardstock, then chose pattern papers from Doodlebug's Lots of Love collection to decorate with (links below).
For the lid, I added flowers and leaves from the Bits and Pieces and used foam tape in between to give them dimension. You could add a bow, a note, or a To & From tag instead.
This would be so thoughtful filled with small goodies. Here are some fun ideas ...
- Fill it with love notes
- Small photos
- Add helpful IOUs offering to do nice things or chores for the recipient
- Money - imagine the Tooth Fairy leaving this sweet box on your child's nightstand
- Individually wrapped candy
- Jewelry - what a great way to present someone with a ring, bracelet, or necklace. Even a child would love to discover their first pair of earrings this way
- Tickets to a movie or concert
I had so much fun making this and I hope you'll give this cut file a try.
There are more inspiring projects to see today so be sure to hop to each blog for lots of great ideas!
