Hello friends! Today, I'm sharing one of my "Live in the Hive" projects - a fun 12x12 scrapbook page. For those of you who don't know about my Hive Membership, twice a month I design a project for Hive members that we make together LIVE on Facebook. These are recorded and saved on our Hive homepage so members can view them anytime. These projects are created using your own supplies, so ... everyone's will be unique and it's a great way to use your amazing stash! The supplies can be ANY theme so the project will fit YOUR needs. It's so much fun to scrap together as a community & create something new!
I wanted my page to have a travel theme so I used the Simple Stories Let's Go Collection. But, with your own paper collection it could be about a new baby, holiday, pet, season, ... anything! That's the beauty of "Live in the Hive" projects - you get to use up your own scraps and you end up with something beautiful.
To make this, I started with the 12x12 Come Fly With Me paper, white cardstock and a heart shaped template that I printed off the computer. I lightly traced the heart in pencil. Then I gathered all the fun embellishments in this collection like brads, cardstock stickers, puffy stickers, enamel dots, die cuts, chipboard stickers, and foam stickers (links below).
Next, I made a photo mat and slightly overlapped it onto my heart shape. I chose a pretty plaid print from the 6x8 paper pad and white cardstock.
Then, the super fun part!! I added a mix of embellishments inside the heart starting with the largest pieces first, then filling in with the smaller ones. I love this! It's kind of like a puzzle but more fun because there's no wrong way of doing it. I added the foam Good Times title in the left corner, and ... tah dahhh! Finito!
I'd love to have YOU join the Hive membership and ... our next "Live in the Hive" project. It's so much fun to be a part of a scrapbooking group, sharing ideas and new products. For more info, click HERE.
