Happy Monday! Last month I posted a Gingerbread Girl Mini Album for National Gingerbread Cookie Day. Today ... is National Gingerbread House Day. Hmmm ... isn't a gingerbread house still a cookie? Lol! Anyway, no
treat symbolizes the holidays quite like gingerbread whether it's a
candy decorated house, a smiling gingerbread man, or a spiced
loaf of bread.
Today, I thought I'd share an older Christmas recipe project for some "sweet" inspiration. My Favorite Holiday Recipes Album is perfect for any kind of baked yumminess!
I designed this with Doodlebug's Milk & Cookies Collection but you could easily substitute with any Christmas line. And ... you could also mix in the adorable Made with Love baking collection!
For the cover, I chose a cute print from the 6x6 Milk & Cookies paper pad and added the round scalloped sticker from the This & That sheet, chunky twine,
a button, and some cute sprinkle shapes. Love that tiny gingerbread! I printed the title on my
computer - the font is by Lori Whitlock called Cutie Pie.
I used a teal 4x6 Simple Stories binder with lots of clear pocket pages. A 4x6 Flipbook would also work. I designed some simple tabbed pages with my Silhouette machine to make finding each recipe a little easier.
Inside, I added a kitchen cabinet and cute little cat. There are very similar die cuts in the Made With Love and Night Before Christmas collections, but be creative and choose any piece you love.
I covered the tabbed pages with papers from the Milk & Cookies and Petite Print collections. You could add photos here or leave them as is.
I had fun matching die cuts with the labels. I was able to find something perfect, or pretty close to each title. Search through different Doodlebug collections that you have. Cynthea has made all kinds of amazing die cuts throughout the years.
Here's another photo of some of the pages. Aren't they cute!?! The little Santa mug and glass of milk on the "Beverages" page are adorable.
For
the recipe cards, I created a design in my word processing program and
left a little space in the lower right corner for some mini icon
stickers. I love these. This might be one of my favorite details of the project.
I added them to the 4x6 inch page protectors where they'll be safe from messy fingers and spills. Can't you just see this album being a keepsake that you pull out every Christmas?
I hope you enjoyed flipping through this oldie but goodie today. Happy National Gingerbread House day!
