Ok scrappers ... brace yourself. Today I'm sharing the miniest birthday mini I've ever made and it turned out so stinkin' cute! As you all know, I am a mini album girl at heart. They are my favorite. So, when I found a Lori Whitlock cutting file that transforms an Altoids tin into a mini album and gift card holder ... I was all about it!
This is a super fun little project. The micro mini cracks me up! But don't let the size fool you. This teeny accordion style album can still hold lots of fun little gems.
First, the how to ... I used an empty Altoids tin, a really cute Doodlebug collection from my stash called Dragon Tails and a Lori Whitlock cutting file called Altered Altoids Tin with Mini Album (link below).
I used my Silhouette machine to cut all of the pieces out and they fit perfectly! Even around the little metal hinge on the tin box! If you don't have a cutting machine but are good with a pair of scissors, you could probably do this by hand.
I used a bunch of colorful 12x12 papers, some die cuts from Odds and Ends, stickers from the This and That, and for the top of the tin - mini icons. Product links below.
You could make this little gift with ANY fun scrapbook collection and for ANY occasion like ... Father's Day, a baby shower, birthday or a graduation. It would make a great gift for a college student, teacher, tutor, babysitter or dog walker!
Need a few ideas for the inside?
- Gift cards fit down in the tin perfectly and who doesn't love a gift card?! Cash is also great and fits neatly in the mini album's pockets.
- Small photos of friends, family or a beloved pet would be adorable in the album. I love the idea of adding little photos. So unexpected and meaningful.
- Tickets to a movie, carnival, show, arcade, etc. would also be a great idea tucked in the pockets!
- Or, you could add jewelry, a few pieces of candy or even a small toy in the tin.
I hope this inspires you to create your own gift card holder and mini album. Thanks for stopping by and happy scrapping!
