Hello crafters! I know I say this a lot, but I'm really excited to share today's project with you. It's the cutest little birdhouse explosion box that would be a fun gift for Valentine's Day. It has space inside for photos, notes, or gift cards and spoiler alert ... it also has a cute little surprise tucked inside!
I created this project with a Lori Whitlock cutting file and paired it with some colorful Doodlebug petite prints and a pretty patterned
paper from the Love Notes Collection (links below). Oh, how I love that plaid. 💗
For the roof, I used my 2 favorite colors - pistachio (buffalo check/woodgrain) and cherry (petite print dot). They're perfect with the plaid. The yellow chick is a Doodle-pops from the Down on the Farm Collection and the pink heart is from the Lovebugs Collection. It's a mini Doodle-pop called Be Mine.

The birdhouse is adorable, but when you lift off the roof, the four sides drop down (or explode, lol), exposing the 2 yellow pockets and ... a little red, polka dot BIRD! Oh good grief, how stinkin' cute is that bird? I love it.
The 2 yellow envelopes are just the right size for a few photos, notes or a gift card. Tuck a few pictures of the two of you or the littles / grandlittles in the pockets. Maybe write a poem, or add a thoughtful coupon to cook dinner for them on Friday night. You could also add a gift card to a favorite coffee shop or cash.
