Outdoor Summer Adventure Scrapbook Album

Hey friends! Experts say this is the year of the road trip and since many people are trying to avoid the crowds, I'm thinking a nature inspired vacation might be perfect. Today, I have a wonderful NEW album kit in the shop titled Outdoor Summer Adventure and it's great for saving pictures of a trip to a National Park, camping, hiking, summer camp, and fun warm weather activities!

To purchase the instructions for this album visit:

I designed this with a 6x6 inch chipboard album by Prima and the Echo Park Summer Adventure Collection by Lori Whitlock. It has mountains, tents, campfires, backpacks, owls, stars, canoes, trees, and more.

This mini would also be fabulous for photos of a cabin, time at the lake, boating, tubing, or fishing with friends. I love being outside. It's hot as blazes this summer but an afternoon on the water ... in an inner tube ... being lazy in the sunshine ... sounds awwwwesome!

Inside, there are 12 scrapbook pages that include 3 pockets, 1 fold-out page, 5 flippies, and space for 22 photos

Outdoor activities like camping, hiking, biking are not only good for your physical health, but they’re also great for your mental and emotional well-being. They can decrease your stress level, and ... it’s hard to be cranky when you’re having fun in nature. 😉

This would also make a perfect keepsake for photos of summer camp. Do you have littles (or grandlittles) in day camp or sleep-away camp this summer? Save those fun memories of friends, art projects, exploring, kayaking, horseback riding, swimming, campfires, smores, and enjoying nature!

I love the saying on the flippie above - "Collect moments, not things." So true! And, isn't that why we scrapbook? To document those moments that give our life quality? I want to remember all the little details of those moments when remembering isn't so easy anymore, lol!

Above is one of the three pockets. They're great for storing small maps, brochures, tickets, journaling cards, postcards, notes, itineraries, business cards, or extra photos.

Thinking Outside the Box with Bella Blvd

Hi everyone! Today I'd like to challenge you to think outside the box when it comes to your themed paper collections.  And what better way for me to illustrate my idea, than with a fun little box project.  For example, I used adorable paper and embellishments from Bella Blvd's Chloe collection ... even though my project has nothing to do with kitty cats.

The box is by Graphic 45 and has a small album tucked inside. I started the project by covering the box with white card stock.  I like how pattern papers pop off a background of white so you'll see most of my albums and pages start with a white base.

I covered the sides of the box with the super cute floral pattern (Chloe: Smitten) and then layered the top with white card stock and a yellow and orange dot (Chloe: Borders).  Then the fun part ... embellishing the top of the box!

I started with the largest piece first.  I adhered the house die cut and then randomly added large die cut flowers.  I love how the Bella Pop flowers add dimension, and the epoxy hearts add a little shine! Then I used the new matte enamel dots (Cat Mix and Dog Mix) to fill in the smaller spaces.

I kept the album inside super simple by layering 3x4 white card stock with pattern paper, slipping the small pages into ten 3x4 Simple Stories page protectors, and adding binding rings.  My granddaughter's pictures are going to look so cute on those little pages!

As you can see, my project really has nothing to do with kitty cats, even though I did the whole thing with the Chloe collection! I hope I've inspired you to think outside the box and find fun ways to use your papers and embellies for everyday projects.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

12x12 Sweet Taste of Summer Page with Doodlebug

Hello everyone! What's better on a hot summer day than a juicy bite of ice cold watermelon? Especially a watermelon that's perfectly sweet and seedless! Yum!

I couldn't wait to create this 12x12 layout with the new Bar-B-Cute collection (links below). Those little watermelon faces make me smile every time I see them. I printed 3 pictures at 3"x4", and then cut an extra one to fill in the right and left sides.  I had never done this with photos before and I like how it makes the photos appear to be moving across the page.

Isn't that title cute? I used the new Sunshine alpha stickers in ladybug and beetle black. Love them!

I wanted to replicate the curve of a watermelon shape on the page, so I used a 12" plastic circle to trace and cut out my grass pattern paper. I added a few adorable odds & ends, and a border across the bottom, and my page was complete!

I hope you're enjoying your summer!  You can also find some of this collection at Starlit Studio HERE.
