Shaping Text Silhouette Tutorial

Good morning friends!

Today I'm sharing a couple projects that I created using a fun cutting technique.  I have a step-by-step Silhouette tutorial posted on Lori Whitlock's blog today so head over there to learn how to bend your text to fit into your shapes.

Here's an example...I made this card using one of Lori Whitlock's hot air balloon files.  I cut "Thank You" in the center of the balloon's banner.  See how the letters bend with the shape of the balloon?

And here is another way you can use this technique -- cutting phrases out to wrap around a circle!

Summer Blog Hop with Lori Whitlock

This hop is all about summer inspiration! For many of us, summer means travel and what would travel be without a camera to capture all those wonderful memories? Well, this adorable camera may not take any pictures, but it certainly is a fun little keepsake for storing those vacation shots.

For this project, I used Lori's new camera mini album. I enlarged it 130% so that I could tuck in some 4x6 photos. The paper is Here and Now by Echo Park, another awesome collection designed by Lori. I love the bright summery colors!  

I wanted to keep the album pages simple to focus on the photos but I did add some element stickers to a few of the photos. So easy and so cute!

For the camera strap, I punched a hole in the side of my camera after I put it together. I added a small grommet over the hole and hooked in a little 7 Gypsies chain. The ribbon is a scrap from an old Basic Grey collection that I found in my stash. I love that it looks like a real vintage camera strap :)

Okay, so all of my followers know how much I love to create mini albums and fun kits.  Thanks to AccuCut, I am able to cut lots of fun shaped pages for my kits.  A few months back, Little Yellow Bicycle asked me to create a mini using their Makin' The Grade school collection.  I immediately knew that the Locker Album die from AccuCut (designed by Bona Rivera-Tran) would be perfect for a school album.  I loved the finished project, so I entered the album into the AccuCut 2013 GrandeMARK challenge.

Today I learned that AccuCut selected this album to win their grand prize!!.  The GrandeMARK die-cut machine was one of my first purchases when I started Artsy Albums.  I knew I wanted to offer my customers something different -- chipboard albums and kits that they couldn't get everywhere.

So Dog Gone Cute! Imaginese Good Dog Album

A brand new mini album was added to the shop this morning friends....and it might be one of my new favorites!  Who doesn't love taking pictures of their precious pup??  Save those sweet photos in this adorable new mini album -- available pre-made, or as a DIY kit!

This album will make a wonderful keepsake for photos of your precious pup!

Rich, vibrant colors, fun titles, shaped pages, and 3-D embellishments -- these are just a few of the things that adorn the 12 pages of this beautiful album. The cover is covered with adorable paper and embellishments from Imaginese. The pages include wonderful pockets, bone and paw shaped pages, tags, and a fold-out so that at least 22 photos can be added throughout the book. I always create my albums so that photos can easily tuck under embellishments, and I always use only acid-free, photo-safe supplies. The title on the cover says "Paw Prints on My Heart" and other pages say "I love dogs", "Pampered Pets" and "Man's Best Friend". 12x12 Fairy Costumes Scrapbook Layout

Hey there friends! This week is all about "Things with Wings" at Frosted Designs. So, for my take on our Design Team's challenge, I decided to scrap some older photos of my nieces when they were fairies for Halloween. My sister is a fabulous seamstress and she made their costumes every year when they were little. This was probably my favorite year - absolutely beautiful costumes. 

Here's our little fairies with a collection that's perfect for this layout, Little Yellow Bicycle's Fern & Forest Girl.

A Squash Album with Lori Whitlock

Hello friends, I want to share a new project with you today. As you know, I'm a huge fan of Lori Whitlock and her cutting files over at Silhouette. When I received her new paper line, Echo Park Here & Now I knew it would be perfect for a mini album I've been wanting to create for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day walk for breast cancer I participated in.

This is Lori's Squash Album, a cute pop up album that was really fun to create, small enough to carry in your purse and would even make a great little card for the top of a gift!

When you are creating this cute little pop-open album, you can place a piece of twine or ribbon between the back paper and chipboard so that it wraps around, ties in the front, and keeps your album closed.

Fully opened, the album has lots of space to be creative! You can add photos and stickers as I’ve done here. Or, you can write notes, add card sentiments or even make the triangle pieces into little pockets for tucking in a surprise. You’ll have fun with this one!
