Hello my friends! Today is Lori Whitlock's January Blog Hop and my blog is the first stop on the hop. But be sure to visit Lori's site because she has a sale and more great products for you!
For
my project today, I wanted to make a scrapbook page with one of Lori's cutting files called 12x12 Lace Background (link below). I had a family photo that needed a home and thought the design would make an interesting background.
I picked out a bunch of fun 12x12 pattern papers from Echo Park's new Pets collection (also designed by Lori). This line is filled with happy prints and vibrant colors, so ... it was perfect. :)
I used my Silhouette machine to cut the lace pattern out of the dark blue card stock that's in the Pets Collection. For the pattern papers, I have a great tip ...
To keep things simple, I used a 3" punch to cut circles out of the colorful prints and then adhered them to the backside of the lace background. The shape and size worked well and it was easier than cutting the different centers out with the Silhouette machine.
Once I had the background together, I matted my photo in red, white, and yellow solid card stock and then embellished the page. I used some die cut pieces and stickers from the Doodlebug, My Happy Place Collection and finished it off with some pretty enamel dots from the Pets Collection.
There are more inspiring projects to see today so be sure to hop to each blog for lots of great ideas!
