Hi guys! I have a super cute project to share with you today. I've been loving Doodlebug's newest collection, Made With Love. So, when I saw the adorable apron die cut from the odds & ends I thought it would make a great mini album. Then the ideas kept coming and suddenly the project grew! Check it out ...
I
made a cute accordion-style mini album for photos of family, friends, food, & fun in the kitchen. THEN, I created an apron shaped box to store the mini in and some of your favorite recipes! I'll be giving this
little gift to a good friend who loves to bake.
So, here's how I made it ... For the shape, I used a Lori Whitlock cutting file called Cook's Apron Box (links below).
I cut the box out of white card stock and covered it in the
adorable pistachio Bake Me Happy paper.
I added a plaid pocket to the front and a little scalloped trim out of the Cinnamon Hearts paper. Instead of using the utensils from the cut file, I added the adorable happy faced ones from the Odds & Ends. I finished it off with a beautiful ribbon and some pink heart shaped sprinkles. 💗
Next, I used the Silhouette software to weld several apron shapes together. I cut 3 aprons from 12x12 card stock twice (adding a little tab to one of them) and then glued them together to create a 6-panel album.
I love adding scalloped circles photo mats to my minis. They work really well in odd shaped albums and ... they look adorable! I used a 3" scallop circle punch and a 2.5" round circle punch.
I have to make another one of these albums for me and Rylee. I can just see pictures of the two of us baking cookies on these pages. And how fun are those shaped sprinkles ... shaped like sprinkles, lol! They're perfect for a day of sugar cookies and decorating.
I think this would be a fabulous handmade gift for someone for Valentine's Day or Easter. You could tuck it in a basket, or ... add a bit of Easter grass to the apron box and it will look so festive!
I added some of the Doodlebug recipe cards to the box. They fit perfectly behind the album. If you give this as a gift, add a few holiday recipes or a special one that was passed down through your family.
This would also be a great Mother's Day gift, birthday gift for a friend, or keep it for yourself and fill it with pictures of your own fun memories in the kitchen.
I hope you love this as much as I do and it inspires something wonderful. Have a great and crafty day! 💕
